Malware Byte – A Look at 3 Types of Malware

A malware is a program that can infect your computer and corrupt your computer files. In a worst case scenario it could render your computer useless and you won’t be able to do anything with it. This would mean you’d have to delete everything from your computer and start all over. This would be a huge inconvenience if you have a lot of personal files and things on your computer that are important to you. Let’s take a look at 3 different types of a malware byte.

Virus. This is what most people are familiar with and they are most commonly spread through e-mail. I’m sure most people have seen anti-virus commercials or anti-virus software advertised online, in print or in stores at some point. This type of malware self-replicates and corrupts your files. Viruses can also end up deleting everything on your computer.

Worms. These are similar to viruses and they kind of work in the exact same way. However, a worm can attack an entire network and ultimately give its creator complete digibyte exchange access. This means that the creator of the worm could have access to all of the files available on the network it has infected.

Spyware. Spyware actually isn’t really that harmful to your computer. Once it gets onto your computer it will drastically slow down the performance. Spyware will report your activity and keep track of your internet activity and even manipulate your browser. Spyware is usually bundled with other free software and you won’t know it until it’s too late. The program will use the information it obtains from your web activity to generate various types of annoying pop up ads that won’t stop. Even if you have a pop up blocker installed many of them can still get through.

Now that you know about three different kinds of malware you may be able to diagnose one if something is wrong with your computer. You can easily get rid of malwares by performing a scan using an anti-virus or anti-spyware program. There are free versions available online that can be trusted to eliminate the malware successfully and you’ll notice that your computer’s speed will improve and you won’t have to worry about your files becoming infected and/or deleted.
