Portable Air Purification: More Important Than ever?

Most people are aware now that indoor air quality in their homes isn’t always the best, and can be the chief cause of allergies, asthma and illnesses. Now that we have things like Ebola, enterovirus EV-D68, as well as a very active terrorist movement against us, having a quality portable air purifier in your home and when you travel, could mean the difference between good and bad health, or even life and death.

And this isn’t just a bunch of hype. Ebola and EV-D68 now have documented cases of killing people, and we’re not 室內空氣清新. exactly sure where it’s going to pop up next. The CDC stated recently that Ebola was not airborne, sort of indicating that it wouldn’t be. Well guys, there are two things wrong with that: a bunch of other viruses like cold and flu viruses are known to be airborne at times, and we also know that all of these viruses can live on surfaces for varying amounts of time. Any bacteria or virus can become airborne if it attaches to a particle that becomes airborne, and when we inhale the dust or particles, those germs go with it.

This is why portable air purifiers, especially those with quality HEPA filters to trap those particles and UV could be one of the most health-protective steps you can take – at home, the office and especially when you travel. The second thing that’s wrong with saying Ebola isn’t or can’t be airborne is that it’s immediately airborne when someone sneezes and releases those tiny droplets into the air!

Hotel rooms are notorious for having poor air quality, and frankly just not being that sanitary. Most rooms have a window air conditioner that rarely ever gets cleaned or serviced and these are usually loaded with mold spores, bacteria, and viruses, which accounts for the musty smell we usually encounter when we first walk in. That musty smell is caused by living mold spores and bacteria that produce chemicals that have odors, as a byproduct of their metabolism. So if you smell that musty odor, you know that bacteria and mold spores are in the air.

And, as we discussed above, with things like Ebola, enterviruses, EV-D68, bird flu viruses, and other germs on the loose, now more than ever, it makes sense to keep the air clean in whatever indoor area you’re spending time in. It’s especially important for those with COPD, allergies, asthma or other health issues to keep the air clean, too–and using a quality air cleaner with a HEPA filter and UV just might keep those infections from coming back. What brands should you buy? The best air scrubbers we’ve found that continue to rate highly in customer reviews for value and performance are Aller Air, Austin Air, Blueair, RxAir, Winix and Tiger.

So if you want to protect yourself, your family and any guests in your home or on a trip with you, consider having a good air purifier with you and using it in whatever rooms you spend time in–because if there isn’t an air cleaner sitting there absorbing and ‘inhaling’ those micro-pollutants and germs, you will.

Hi, I’m Rex Murphy with Air purifiers and Cleaners. com. I wrote this article to hopefully make the point that using an air purifier to keep our indoor air clean wherever we are, is more important than ever–especially now that Ebola, EV-D68 and other deadly germs are here in the U. S.
